"Free As A Bird" on the London Eye

The London Eye, also known as the Millennium Wheel, was completed in March of 2000 and is located on the South Bank of the Thames River.  From Big Ben you just walk across the bridge....viola.
The Eye is 135 meters tall, Europe's tallest ferris wheel.  There are 32 pods or capsules which can carry 25 people per pod.
I'm sure it has room for 6 wee Canadians?

Waiting in line for the London Eye.  It is possible to purchase tickets on line but if the weather is a wee bit foggy, you may not get the views.  We waited maybe 30 minutes to get on....not bad at all.  More time to people watch.

Just remember....it's just a BIG ferris wheel.

You get onto the London Eye as it moves very slowly.  It takes half an hour for the wheel to go one full  revolution.

Nervous at first but look at these two high flyers Lyn and Dennis.

Deb, Ruth and Roger....

Posing on the other side of the camera.

Our second visit and ride on the London Eye.  Loved it.  Won't be our last.

Views from the top.  Big Ben actually named not for the tower but for the bell that we hear ring on the hour.

London's Parliament House.  I love this picture.  With Big Ben, the Parliament buildings, Westminster Bridge and check out all the red double decker buses on the bridge.

The Hungerford Bridge and Golden Jubilee Bridges doubly named for the railway bridge and the newer pedestrian bridge combined.

Almost at the very top...I can see our neighbouring pod just cresting the top on the London Eye.

Love this photo as well.  We are now on the VERY top of the London Eye.  You just got to do this.

The travelling group of Canucks. Deb, myself, Dennis, Lyn, Ruth and Roger.

Buckingham Palace.  I didn't realize it was so surrounded by trees.
